    Hardcover. Etat : Very good. First Edition. Octavo. xvi, 234 pages, [1]. Original gray printed wraps and text recased in a blue cloth hardcover with gilt title on the spine. An unused auction catalog with unopened pages and untrimmed text. Cloth is lightly rubbed on the extremities and outer joints. The lengthy title continues and reads ".Or A Catalogue of 5000 volumes of books and manuscripts relating chiefly to the history and literature of North and South America among which is included the larger proportion of the extra ordinary library of the late Henry Stevens Senior of Barnet Vt Founder and first President of the Vermont Historical & Antiquarian Society The whole comprising such a collection of ancient and modern books rich and rare useful and common as seldom occurs for sale in any country including many titles never before recorded in an American Catalog. The auctioneer was "Messrs Leonard and Co. The auction took place April, 1870. Previous owner bookplate of "Marcus A. McCorison" located on the front paste down. Laid inside the hardcover is a folding printed card "In Affectionate Rememberance of Henry Stevens Lover of Books". The third page states "The Remains of the Late Henry Stevens of Vermont were Laid to Rest in West Hampsted Cemetery on Thursday 4 March 1886.".
