Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. Type: Hardback First Edition. Hardcover Book in Very Good Condition. No jacket. This Fourteenth Volume of the Annual Christmas Book from Cuneo Press is a blend of early Americana of historic England, a prose pageant of the great and popular stories of various eras. Original illustrations especially prepared for this volume. Clean, bright and unmarked red cloth with elaborate gilt design on the spine, gilt panel with red gothic-type lettering. Board edges and corners are rubbed. Top edge gilt. Fore-edge rough cut. Sewn binding tight and solid. Former owner name on paste-down. Rear endpapers have brownish spotting at lower hinge. Paper is heavy, pages quite clean, no markings of any kind. A very nice volume with stories by Anthony Trollope, Washington Irving, Oliver Goldsmith, Mary Noailles Murfee, J M Wilson, Bret Harte, and Pope Pius XII. 203 pages. 6.5 x 9.5 inches. 1955, The Cuno Press, Chicago, Illinois.
