An early copy with a comma after the first "W" of the author's byline on front cover. Jacobs' second book, preceded by MANY CARGOES (1896), a collection of his seaport fiction. As is usually the case with these 1890's Pearson books, the pulpy text block and endpapers are darkened, but a very good, externally bright and fine copy. (#112468).
