Reply to a request from Mr. Perlmutter for science fiction reading recommendations. Jenkins begs off, pointing out that the problem is too much, not too little, to recommend. He suggests the anthologies of Croff Conklin as a good starting place. Replying to the correspondent's mention of his own 1951 anthology (GREAT STORIES OF SCIENCE FICTION), he points out that, although he was the editor, "I didn't pick that title for a book that had two of my stories in it. The publishers christened it, and I always feel embarrassed when it's mentioned." Folding creases, else fine. Accompanied by a good original (SASE!) mailing envelope with some foxing at one end. (#140713).
