Cloth. Etat : Good. No Jacket. Green cloth binding with gilt design on the front cover and gilt print and design on the spine. Marble design end papers and page edging. No markings in the text with a few light soils spots and some pages with foxing and tanning. There is a name and date (Dec 25, 1886) printed on one of the blank front end papers. There is some white spots on the back cover that appear to be paint droppings. The spine has a small edge tear on the front near the bottom end and ther is some very light wear on the top end. The title page states, Fully illustrated with steel and electrotype plate engravings.

Part of the series on Science in World War II by the Office of Scientific Research and Development. Books are fine, no marks, pages clean and binding nice and tight. Dust jackets show slight signs of shelf wear, but is otherwise fine, not price clipped or ex-lib. Dust jacket is protected with mylar. A very nice copy of an uncommon book. Other books in this series, in similar fine condition, are also available.

First Edition. A reissue of 'Eighty Years' Progress of British North America' (1863) with an additional chapter on the history of the new confederated Dominion of Canada. The sections on physical features, agriculture, the North-West Territory, the new parliament buildings in Ottawa, and trade and commerce were written by Henry Youle Hind, travel and transportation by Thomas Coltrin Keefer, mineral resources by Charles Robb, education in Upper and Lower Canada by J.George Hodgins, New Brunswick by Moses Henry Perley, and Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland by Rev. William Murray. The engraved plates include views of Niagara Falls, the Ottawa River, Lachine Rapids, Victoria Bridge, Toronto, St. John, Pictou, and Halifax. It appears that two plates were omitted in this issue, as it collates with TPL's copy. TPL 4238.
