/William Randell, illustrator. (illustrateur). CONDITION: Very Good Plus in Very Good Plus jacket; no names, straight, appeared unread (I read it at 20 degree angle!), edges lightly foxed; in crisp basically clean jacket foxed inside with 3 small pale spots, no other flaws; unclipped 12/6. Juvenile hardback. When their parents inadvertently leave them alone for a week, three children, very new to Africa, insist on going on a camping trip (!) and their Kenya-born neighbor goes along taking her family's reluctant servant Kipchirchir. It is the time of the Mau Mau uprising and this is an attempt by an English writer from Kenya to explain African perspectives to Kenyan English children, drawn from real incidents and characters. Interesting views of a tense time in a beautiful country. Apparently the author's only book. ABE Heritage Seller since 1996; conservative AB condition grading. We ship all our books in cardboard protection. International shipping. /William Randell, illustrator.
