Illustrated with eleven photographs on glossy black-and-white plates. SIGNED by the author, Creston Donald Ketchum, and additionally SIGNED by the author's wife Florence M. Ketchum to the front end-paper. An adventure filled autobiography of the the Canadian who started his sea adventures in 1940 aboard a Britain-bound Swedish freighter, where Ketchum witnessed war and the sinking of the Jervis Bay. He then joined the Royal Canadian Navy, deserted so he could go to sea again, had numerous other dangerous sea adventures, and ended up a Reverend, a missionary, and then captain of the Morning Star VI helping the natives of the Pacific Islands. Minuscule scuff to the upper shelf-edge, two pages bear minor light-tan stain spots, else about near fine in sky-blue linen boards with gilt embossed titles to the spine; in a very good dust jacket with tiny tears and nicks to the upper and lower spine edges, a short tear to the upper edge of the rear panel, a short tear to the lower edge of the front panel, a tiny chip to the upper rear flap fold corner; original printed 12s 6d net price still intact to the front inner flap. Octavo; 159 pages.

SIGNED by AUTHOR and wife (rare additional autograph) who were missionaries of renown in the western Pacific after WWII, sailing from island to island carrying the word of God. Signed copies by Creston Ketchum alone are common, the added signature of his co-missionary wife Florence makes this a special copy indeed. [B27-40]. Signed by Author.

THERE IS A PENNED DEDICATION TO THE FFEP. THE BINDING IS TIGHT. PAGES GENERALLY APPEAR CLEAN AND CREASE FREE. ALL IN ALL A NICE EXAMPLE OF THIS BOOK. Signed by Author(s).
