Hardcover. 153p., larded with several dozen b&w photographic plates on inserted coated stock, first edition red cloth boards gilt-titled. Mildly edgeworn along most extremities, most noticibly along front joint, with slight bubbling of rear cover cloth, front pastedown bears a neat ownership signature else perfectly clean, unmarked and sound, a good copy. Author's own poem at terminus shows where the sergeant came from: trees, technique, not great but no let-down.

Autobiography of the mother of New Jersey poet Joyce Kilmer. Sometimes found signed by her but this is the only copy we have senn signed by his father, who died before the end of 1934. Very good, spine somewhat rubbed.

First Edition/First Printing. Bound in cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have shelf-wear present to the extremities (boards are lightly rubbed and worn to the extremities). No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Annie Kilmer released a memoir remembering her famous son, "Trees" poet Joyce Kilmer, with a 1925 book, "Leaves From My Life". It is the sad story of the Kilmer family, whose son, Joyce was killed in World War I. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.

One top corner a little bumped, near fine without dustwrapper. Warmly Inscribed on the second blank: "To Mrs. Lewis Dick with the appreciation of Sergt. Joyce Kilmer's mother, Annie Kilburn Kilmer. New Brunswick 12th Nov. 1920." On the rear fly leaf is recorded in ink Mrs. Kilmer's address in New Brunswick. On the rear pastedown is a long list of clubs and universities, possibly venues where Mrs. Kilmer spoke.
