Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. Russell, Charles M. (illustrateur). First Edition. 8 1/2" tall red hardback with gold print on spine and front. Minor bumping along edges and corners of boards with light fraying. A few white spots on boards. I would say the boards are in "Good" condiiton. Some brown spotting along the outside side edge with a couple of pages with smal brown staining on the edge. "10 cents" written on ffep. On the bottom of the frontispiece and title page, there is a small spot of red staining. The pages are tight but the book will stay open. The pages are clean except for one page with two words underlined and 4 words written on the outside edge. 275 pages. Introduction by Ramon F. Adams. Stated First Edition on copyright page. Overall this book is probably not in collectible condition, but it is certainly better than a reading copy. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

ABOUT THIS BOOK: Today Americans find themselves in the midst of a crisis--a crisis of violence which threatens the existence of human life. Responding to the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr., and Robert F. Violence and the Struggle for Existence, based on research from diverse fields, dramatically emphasizes the critical need to understand and reduce this life-threatening force.(Publisher).

A fine book with aging to the endpapers, in a good clipped dust jacket. An interesting book full of reminicenses, biased or otherwise, but very revealing of many old west characters we may have thought differently of. Obviously, the author had many friends as evidensed by the book's illustrator being Charley Russell, the introducer Ramon Adams, and it being dedicated to the author's friend Jeff D. Milton. This book comes from the estate of Dudley Dobie from San Marcos, Texas.
