Bruxelles, Institut International d'Art Public, ( directeur Eugène Broerman), 1907-1909, in-4°, Issues 1-7 (published in 5 physical issues - there being 3 double issues), publisher's half cloth, some covers slightly soiled, well illustrated issues of ca. 100 pp. Another two physical issues were published (9-12), not present here. Text in French. Important tête de collection of this rare periodical which was devoted to the promotion of art in the public space and the safeguarding of ancient momuments and sites of historical intrest. It emanated from the - in hindsight - naive late19th-century social and scientific optimism wich foresaw an impending end to society's problems. In his introduction the president of the Society, E. Broerman, states that he wants ''to combat for an artistic hygiene in all the fields covered by the public domain and to act against bad taste which spoils the public domain''. Among its board of editors we find famous architects such as L. Cloquet, Edmond Devigne, Victor Horta. P.S. Some issues can be had separately. Please enquire by e-mail.
