The persons included are Lycurgus, Solon, Pericles, Alcibiades, Cicero, and Alexander the Great. Mass-market paperback with soil and wear to wraps, from which an outer glassine layer is peeling, top edge dust-soiled, pages brown with age, crack along front of spine but backstrip firmly attached. Names of former owners written on ffep, pages unmarked.

Binding has remained firm. Boards have been heavily rub worn with heavy shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a heavily frayed and spine ends are crushed, with some small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces and bubbling. Slight crushing and fraying to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened. Visible wear marks to boards and spine. Book has a slight forward lean.

Includes, in the preface, the translator's argument for why Plutarch needed their translation.
