Three-Quarter Leather. Etat : Good. No Jacket. This book has been bound with a soft brown leather spine and corners, marbled papers on boards. Raised band spine with date at foot, black and gilt title label. Small chip {1/4 inch in length} near the "C" of "Campagnes" on title label. Leather of spine has rubbed, faded. Foot is very good, wear and light chipping of leather at the head. Head and foot bands are hand sewn. Light rubbing of marbled covers. Faint discoloration centered in leather of front cover hinge {water?}. All corners have rubbed leather. Bottom corners good but worn. Bottom back corner has board just showing. Upper corners have more wear, bumped with board showing. Edges are good, 1/8 chip in paper edge upper back board. Book plate affixed to front end paste-down. Slight darkening on edges of both front and back endpaper. Frontispiece is a fold-out map "Carte Du Theatre De La Guerre en 1813 et 1814." There is a tear near the base of the map, where attached to the text. Routes are marked with various colors. Light foxing and creases, needs to be handled with care. Owner library mark blind embossed on lower quarter of title page. Text has yellowed with age, solid in binding. Upper corner of page 112 was creased. Fold on bottom of page 424, apparently there when book was cut. 442 pages of text in French,including "Appendice Sur Saint Sebastien". Finished with a foldout map "Plan De La Bataille De Toulouse, livree le 10 Avril 1814". This map also has a small tear near the base where affixed to the text. Condition is the same as the map previously described. All in all, this interesting book is in quite good shape and would be an excellent addition for any collector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall.
