Paperback. Etat : Very Good. 56 pages; Contents clean and secure in original pictorial wrappers, wrappers have a thumb sized stain at spine edge, otherwise image bright and impressive. Cover illustration is a bright red and blue color lithograph of a dastardly fellow clutching a swooning blond woman in distress, as a crying hound dog looks on. Illustrated with many photographs by Anton Breuhl, graphic illustrations, and many wonderful advertisements; e.g. Brooks Brothers, Provident Trust Company, The Barclay Apt. Bldg., J.E. Caldwell Jewelers, etc. This extensive programme for this play The production cast included Ward M. French as Sir John; Thurston C. Shays as East Lynne; E. Firzgerald Gore as Nell Lynne and and Arthur B. Sinkler as Abner Heartburn. Anton Bruehl studied engineering in Melbourne, Australia before emigrating to the United States in 1919. In 1924, he left engineering to enroll in Clarence H. White's school to study photography. After Vogue published his photographs in 1926, Bruehl dedicated himself to freelance commercial photography and established his New York studio, which was active from 1927 through 1966. In addition to Vogue and Vanity Fair, Bruehl's photographs were included in many international exhibitions, such as Film und Foto at the Deutscher Werkbund in Stuttgart (1929) and Photography 1839-1937 at the Museum of Modern Art.
