Works issued by The Hakluyt Society, Second Series, Part 2, No. 108. "From the German account by Gabriel Tetzel, with supplementary passages from the Latin versions (printed in 1577, 1843 and 1951) of the lost account in Czech by Václav Sasek, both having been Rozmital's companions.".

Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. Two volume set of Mandeville's Travels, a classic of medieval European travel narratives. Includes the Egerton Text (in English), the Paris Text (in French), and the Bodleian M.S. (in English), and supplementary material translated from Von Diemeringen's German version and the Vulgate Latin version. Fold out map at rear of Vol. I. Both volumes in very good condition. Absolutely minimal wear to the blue cloth boards. Spines somewhat faded - Vol. I more so - with light foxing top page edges and end papers. Interiors are both immaculate with all leaves unmarked and solid bindngs. Hinge visible between pp. 128 and 129 of Vol. I, but pages are still absolutely secure. Vol. II has a small, closed tear to the inside of the front free end paper. Else, a very handsome copy of this fascinating set. Due to the combined size and weight of the two volumes, additional shipping charges may be required.
