4. Paris, s.e., 1761, in-12°, 77 pp, contemporary half vellum, red edges, ex-libris on first paste-down, two library stamps on title. In 1753 , Father La Valette, without the consent of his superiors, founded a trading company on the island of Martinique.which went bankrupt after its ships were seized by the English. This in turn led to the bankrupcy of the Marseille trading company Lioncy Frères et Gouffre. The company started a lawsuit before the Paris court , not only against Father Antoine de La Valette and his Martinique Jesuits but also against the Paris Jesuits The Court finds only the Martinique Jesuits guilty.
