Soft cover. Etat : Near Fine. 1st Edition. Windsor, Nova Scotia: a journey in history; by L. S. Loomer; West Hants Historical Society, Windsor, Nova Scotia, 1996. From the Preface This book tells of one of the most interesting early communities I Nova Scotia. This book is for the student, the casual traveller and the patriot. The scholar wanting to be hip deep in quaint spellings, tangles of subordinate clauses, and mounds of footnotes, will have to look elsewhere. Some of the principal sources, offering supplementary reading, are listed at the end of the text. They represent only a partial bibliography. They do not include the many primary and documentary sources. This book is a journey in time, where the reader may meet a great variety of people. Throughout this journey, I hope the reader will share my discovery of information and my enjoyment of happy times and curious amusements. Leslie Sinclair Loomer was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia; attended Windsor Academy and King s College School, and universities in Canada and the United States. After a career in publishing, he returned to Nova Scotia and established an antiquarian book business. He is the compiler of King s-Edgehill School 1788-1988, honorary historian of the school, and a painter. The book is illustrated with 55 full page black and white illustrations/photographs and a map of Windsor. This softcover book, 399 pages is in near-fine condition. It likely had a limited number of copies printed and today it is a very scarce book on an important and historical town in Nova Scotia.
