Cloth. Etat : Good. First Edition. Original russet cloth which shows some wear at extremities, upper and extreme lower spine chipped, else externally lightly age faded, spine somewhat sunned. Lettering to front board distinct and bright. Internally lightly age toned. Tear to 2" section of front free endpaper. Overall good or slightly better. Frontis., illus., index, 316p. Title appears different in various places of book, one of the most common beaing THROUGH THE FLAMES AND BEYOND, OR CHICAGO AS IT WAS AND AS IT IS. A vivid destription of the destruction of Chicago during the great fire which consumed most of the town in the 19th Century.

Etat : Used - Good. 1872. Cloth with gilt stamped lettering. 8vo. 316 pp. Illustrated. some shelf wear and discoloration to boards, heavy sunning to spine, tear to front joint. Previous owner's inscription to front pastedown. Binding is secure. Pages are somewhat toned but otherwise clean and unmarked. Altogether a copy in Good condition.

Rubbing to boards. Slight creasing and fraying at ends of spine. Foxing and toning throughout text, which is otherwise unmarked. Ghosts of illustrations often appear on antecedent verso. Else fine. A sound copy in otherwise very good condition. Good.
