Etat : Fair. First edition. This is an ex-library book and may have the usual library/used-book markings inside. This book has hardback covers. In fair condition, suitable as a study copy. No dust jacket. Re-bound by library. Octavo. Rebound in blue cloth covers with gilt lettering within a red panel on backstrip. Slightly age-toned pages. Pages 49 and 50 are modern photocopies bound in, in place of the originals. xix pp; 348 pp; 351 405 appendix. Original part-coloured fold-out map present, has been laid down on linen and reinforced at folds. There is very slight damage to the front of the map on its right-hand edge. The 4 duo lithographed plates are present, the frontis has been bound rather tightly, so does not show he bottom margin. This is a very reasonable copy of the extremely scarce first edition of this important book.
