Map. Etat : Very Good-. A handsome, large format Michigan map published in 1886 which shows counties, railroads, rivers, lakes and towns. Contains the eastern Upper Peninsula and Lake Superior shoreline as well as portions of Lakes Huron and Michigan. This is a hand-colored map in pastel with the international boundary in red. Copyrighted in 1886 by M. Bradley & Bro. Measures" 17" x 23" There is a 4" closed tear to the upper right portion of this map which extends beyond the margin into Lake Michigan. Archival tape on the rear would easily repair this map, and if matted and framed, the tear would be nearly invisible. ; Hand-Colored Map; 17" x 23".

Tears in map 31 (North America), 39, (New York state), and Illinois index page. Detailed double-page railroad map of the US with steamship lines shown along the seaboard (35). Includes each American state as of 1885 plus Indian Territory (69). Separate map of Long Island. Central America map shows proposed route of the Panama Canal. Each country or section has its own index, a time-saving innovation that makes it unnecessary to constantly flip to the rear.
