The evolution of the chair up to the reign of George IV. pp(6)181(1) with monochrome frontispiece, in-text figures and 4 monochrome plates, followed by section of 96 monochrome plates and appendix of extracts from newspaper advertisements 1662-1760. Original quarter brown cloth with marbled paper-covered boards, backstrip titled etc in gilt, front board titled in gilt on brown label. Backstrip and cloth overlapping boards a little marked, backstrip gilt dull. Boards a little rubbed at tips of outer corners. No dust jacket. Top edge of text-block lightly dust-marked & speckled, fore-edge a little spotted. Front flyleaf lightly spotted. Generally clean and tight. GOOD+ copy.
