Octavo, original bevel-edged gray buckram. First edition. Limited to 205 copies, this copy is no 67, signed by Manhood. Short story later collected in APPLES BY NIGHT (1932). The author specialized in short stories and was published by some of the top literary houses in England (Jonathan Cape, Grayson and Grayson, the White Owl Press and William Heinemann) but seems to have slipped through the cracks since then as far as critical notice is concerned. - Free endpapers tanned, else a fine copy.

The author's third collection. Manhood specialized in short stories and was published by some of the top literary houses in England (Jonathan Cape, Grayson and Grayson, the White Owl Press and William Heinemann) but seems to have slipped through the cracks since then as far as critical notice is concerned. Publisher's review slip laid in. Light foxing early and late, a nearly fine copy in very good printed dust jacket priced 7/6 with wear and shallow loss at spine ends and along top edge of front panel and some general dust soiling.
