Binding remains firm. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Water staining to gutters throughout, text remains unaffected. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning and water staining to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Tears to cloth to spine. Dent to front board. Sticker to rear board. Wear marks overall.

One colour plate is not present, but has been replaced by photographic plate of Brighton Running Sheds. The book appears to have been neatly trimmed slightly at the outer edges; the text and illustrations are not affected.
1st edition. The following articles appeared in Model Engineer, between February 1957 and April 1959. 24cms x 30cms x 1cm. Pp.133, colour frontispiece + figure illustrations of model locomotives + general specifications throughout, owner's initials to front free endpaper, title written in pen to lower closed page edges. Brown cloth, dustwrapper has edge tears with small losses particularly to lower edges. G/G.
