There is an inlay of a shield of red and white stripes and white stars on a blue background with a picture of McKinley in the center of the shield. The spine gilding is faded, but the lettering remains clear. The book is tight and free of writing. Many pictures.

VG- to VG. Light rubbing with mild scuffing and one touch of surface loss to overall clean and strongly-colored cloth. Mild rubbing/abrasion to extreme spine ends and tips of corners with no surface loss. Gilt mildly dulled but strong and clear. Binding tight and square. Red-tinted page edges very bright, though shelving soil to upper edges. Light damspstains and rippling along lower margin edges of pages; pages otherwise bright and unmarked, though occasional stress creases from tight binding. Fairly common title in much better than usual condition.
