Born in Northhampton, MA, in 1822, Briggs married Dwight Briggs, a civil engineer with the Connecticut River Railroad in 1847. They lived in Walpole and Springfield, MA. Briggs did charity work with Union Relief and with the Children's Aid Association. Very minor wear to extremities, gilt bright, portraits and tissue guards fine, else near fine/ No jacket.
