First printing of the first edition with the Robinson illustrations. A book written in 1915 "for the amusement of my wife and myself at a time when life was not very amusing." - A. A. Milne. First published in 1917 with illustrations by H. M. Brock. This American edition precedes the first British printing with the Robinson illustrations and it is a much more attractive production. A couple of tiny rubs to cloth at edges, a bright, tight, very good copy. (#160461).

This copy has been preserved in what appears to be an early, handcrafted slipcase, with the titling inked on the spine; this has kept this copy in very fine condition. The slipcase shows wear.
