Fine original photographic print measuring 5 x 4 ins (approx. 13 x 10 cms) depicting 'Monty' dressed in Denison Smock and wearing it (as usual) wrapped with belt rather than zipped, and open-necked with camouflage scarf. To complete the airborne context, his iconic black RTR beret carries the badge of the Parachute Regiment in addition to his field-marshal insignia. SIGNED IN INK BY MONTGOMERY. A STRIKING AND UNUSUAL PORTRAIT OF MONTY IN AN AIRBORNE CONTEXT (?POSSIBLY MARKET-GARDEN RELATED) RATHER THAN THE MORE USUAL DESERT/D-DAY SETTINGS.
