Etat : Good. 1958. First Edition. 189 pages. This is an ex-Library book. Brown boards with black lettering to spine and front. Expected library inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Binding remains firm. Front endpaper missing. Pen inscriptions to back endpaper and pastedown. Pages remain bright and clear with minimal tanning. Occasional foxing. Crinkling to gutters. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. There is bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends. Tanning to spine and edges. Lettering is darkened slightly.

Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing, mild to end-papers and text-block edges. Hinges are cracked with exposed netting. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Paste downs have remains of paper stuck to them and areas of loss. Front free end paper excised. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Cloth is slack, bubbling and wrinkled on both boards. This collection of romances includes works from Nina Bradshaw, Juliet Armstrong, Marjorie Price, Marjorie Moore and Cicely Colpitts. 'Challenge to Love' was written by Marjorie Moore and tells the love story of Judith Ganet and Dr Simon Trast. 'Gay Roads' was written by Marjorie M, Price and follows the story of Dilys Weshaw. 'What Would You Buy?' was written by Cicely Colpitts and follows the romance between Sally and Miles. 'The Charmed Circle' was written by Juliet Armstrong and tells the story of Helen and Dermot. 'Romance is Passing by' was written by Nina Bradshaw and tells the story of Ethne Lulverton who leaves the companionship of her Aunt in search of romance. Publisher's advertisements to the dust wrappers and to the rear of the book for 'Challenge to love', 'Gay Roads' and 'Romance is Passing'. Bookseller's price sticker to the spine of 'Gay Roads'. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrappers. Externally excellent with slight bumping and very minor cockling to the rear board of 'Gay roads'. The odd mark to the boards for 'Gay Roads' and 'Charmed Circle. Minimal offsetting to the end papers of 'What Would You Buy', 'Gay Roads' and 'Romance is Passing'. Contemporary ink gift inscription to the front end paper of 'Romance is passing'. The wraps are generally smart with chipping, creasing and handling marks, heaviest to 'Romance is Passing' and 'Challenge to Love'. Rubbing to the spine resulting in surface loss to 'Romance is Passing'. Spotting to the reverse of the wraps for 'Challenge to Love' and 'Romance is Passing', heavier to the former. Light offsetting caused by the red cloth to the reverse of 'Romance is Passing 'and 'Gay Roads'. Internally generally firmly bound with a page starting but firm at the back of 'What Would You Buy'. Generally clean and bright pages. Scattered spotting to 'Challenge to Love' heavier to the front and rear. Minor spotting to the fore edges, heaviest to 'Challenge to Love'. Very Good Indeed. book.
