Previous owner's inscriptions to front free endpaper. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing to spine ends. Wear marks overall.

Hardcover. Etat : Good. Four Volume set has half bound leather with dark green cloth boards. Marbled end papers. All four books have wear to head and tail of spine with a bit of missing material (a few mm in most cases). Volume 3 is missing approximately 1 sq. cm of material at base of spine. Volume 2 has crack to leather along entire front spine joint, as well as horizontal crack about 1/3 way up. All books have a bit of edge wear with some bumping to lower edges and wear to corners. A few scratches to surfaces. Each book has an artistic bookplate from the previous owner on the front paste down. Stamp from small non-circulating library on the second free end page of volume 2 only. No other library indicators. Name/address stamps on the title pages and bottom edge of the text blocks. Pages are free of marks. Bindings are firm. Each volume is 336 pages. 7 x 10 inches. "Selections from the Works of the Chief Poets, Orators, and Prose Writers of Ireland with Biographical Sketches and Literary Notices." An uncommon complete four volume set. Approximately 280 different authors are represented in the four volumes. Volume IV includes an index of all the authors.
