Cloth. Etat : Fine Condition. Etat de la jaquette : No Jacket, As Issued. First Edition. A fascinating account of the expansion of the venerable Catholic men's fraternity into and through the state of Texas from its origins at the turn of the twentieth century, for its first fifty years. This copy is in excellent, fine condition with only a slight dulling to what was once yellow stamping on the cover and spine. It is additionally stamped in gold on the front cover with the name of the previous owner, a former District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus. On the front paste down endpaper is a lengthy and warm inscription from James F. Houlihan, the 1955-57 State Deputy of the order to one of his District Deputies, thanking him for "the sacrifices you have made and the splendid work you have done" on the occasion of his departure from office. This is a splendid association and presentation copy of an excellent account of the growth of the Catholic Faith in Texas. The binding is sharp, tight, and clean, and the interior is crisp and, save for the inscription, unmarked. 298 pages, fully indexed with multiple appendices and a lively narrative.
