Hardcover. Etat : Good. No Jacket. Charles H. Owens (illustrateur). First Edition. First Edition. 257pp, frontis, illus map endpapers. DJ in poor condition, pieces missing and tears held together by the previous own with tap. The spine has faded. From Aadams: Six Guns: "Chapter XXI, entitled "Bandits and the Church,"tells of Vasquez. Earlier in the book there is some information on the Apache Kid, Billy the Kid, and the O.K. Corral fight. The author makes the statement that Billy the Kid "fought his way out of jail," but there was no fight, just a couple of murders. Carr's book blends well the history of the pass and the changes of the future. He writes of OIld and New West of the New Mexico, Arizona and Southern California. It is a fascinating read of the evolution of our west from the pioneers and the Indians, the gold rush, cattle ranching, the introduction of cars, the building of Hoover Dam, the creation of Hollywood. This is a book that is very difficult to put down!!!.
