Saumur, chez René Pean, 1672, in-8°, 17,2 x 10,6 cm, (8)nn pp + 301 pp + (1)(bl), pagination errors 75 for 85 , 211 for 111 , 163 for 167, 17 for 175, 277 for 289, 261 for 291, bound in contemporary full vellum, vellum wrinkled and with some brown stains, interior fine. This christian history of the bible in the form of a catechism was written by Eusebius Pagit ( or Pagett ) ; Cranford St Andrew (Northamptonshire) 1551- London 1617, first published in English in 1613. This French edition contains an anonymous preface ( Jean Louis de Waldkirch) dated Genève 1 aout 1671. The first French edition was published in 1671 in Geneva. In 1672 followed another two editions; Charenton and SAUMUR (our copy). Rare catechism with protestant tendencies. Of the Geneva edition no complete copy is known ( OCLC PPN 320312720). This Saumur edition is only listed in 1 Swiss library (situation Jan. 2014).
