Spine cloth in very poor condition, exposing the page bindings. Extreme cover edge wear. a fragile book but is a vintage book in the Boy Scout series.

Hardcover, tan illustrated covers (red, brown, black), corners rubbed through, light wear and soil. Interior hinges wobbly, pages tanned, but clean, no tears or creases, no markings in the text.

Tiny worm hole on rear hinge. Spine has darkened and speckled from the sun. Some foxing. While this book has a very nice dust jacket showing Scouts wig-wagging, I suspect that it may be a photocopy because of the colors and paper, but I'm not sure. Assume that it is a copy if you purchase. 309 pgs. + ads.

Reprint of the 1911 Hurst & Co. first edition. 302 pages. Hardcover: H 19cm x L 12.75cm. Lacks dust jacket. Olive cloth with pictorial front board and spine, spine ends and board corners bumped with only light wear, mild rubbing to boards, mild rippling to cloth on rear board. Edges toned. Pencil inscriptions and name stamp from two different past owners on front free endpaper. John Henry Goldfrap was a rather prolific author and published fourteen books in The Boy Scouts series from 1911 to 1918 as well as six books in The Motor Cycle Chums series all under the name of Howard Payson. Goldfrap wrote numerous other "series" books under other pseudonyms including Captain Wilbur Lawton (Ocean Wireless Boys; The Boy Aviators; The Dreadnought Boys), Marvin West (The Motor Rangers), Dexter J. Forrester (The Bungalow Boys), and Freemont B. Deering (The Border Boys). A very good- copy.
