No dust jacket. Includes 8 colour plates and numerous drawings. Unpaginated. Book is good, clean internally. Four of the drawings have been lightly and neatly coloured in, and there is an inscription by the previous owner, and a small light yellow crayon scribble over a drawing on the title page. The front hinge is a little shaky, but binding is sound. The boards are reasonably clean, with very light soiling. The spine strip is missing, and there is light shelf-wear to the extremities. All proceeds from the sale of this item go to Amnesty International.

We have glued down the yellow spine flakes to preserve the colour. Pages generally bright and clean with light offset from facing illustration. Novelty shape book. Jim, who, his dancing partner feels, is a bit thick, goes on an enthusiastic exercise regime, becomes slim and famous, marries Ma'moiselle Peeka de Bou, and opens a dancing school. Hardcover. Etat : Poor. First Edition. An uncommon large format Peek-a-Boos book. A disreputable copy of a scarce book. MISSING the title page and preliminaries including the frontis. Nevertheless there are still 17 wonderful full page (34x21.5 cm) printed on brilliant white stock. A number of the plates have finger smudges and the last three are dampstained. Covers very worn, binding split at several locations.

Toploader large softcover Very cute illustrations of little people going about their day with colourful and elaborate borders and pastel pages. These 12 illustrations are taken from the 18 Quaint Little Folk Series of greeting cards which Chloe Preston created for Raphael Tuck in 1926 and 1927. Imitation nursery rhymes have been made up for each picture, probably by the publishing house; on most pages a short traditional rhyme appears as well. FIRST EDITION 1935, 4to, 290 x 215 mm, 11¼ x 8¼ inches, cloth backed colour illustrated boards, 48 pages plus painting section. 5 colour plates (2 by Geoffrey Eyles, 3 unsigned), black and white illustrations to all stories by Rene Cloke. Stories: Riquet with the Tuft; Prince Rabbit (A.A. Milne - illustrated by Cloke plus 1 unsigned colour plate); William Below Stairs (from Just William - illustrated by Cloke plus 1 unsigned colour plate). At the end is How to Paint with 3 colour plates by Chloe Preston each facing outline to paint, 1 extra outline by her, all of Peek-a-Boo type children, 2 outlines neatly coloured. At front and rear is a large coloured jigsaw puzzle set into the board covers (a funfair scene and a zoo scene), both are complete. Lower cover slightly rubbed and grazed, corners slightly worn, no inscriptions, a few faint fox spots to title page and to some margins, 2 of Cloke's black and white illustrations have been partly neatly coloured in.
