Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Illustrated by Maurice Leloir (illustrateur). First Edition Thus; First Printing. Half-bound green leather with pale blue marbled leather. Spine is deep bron calf leather with five slightly raised bands and gilt titles and decoations. The front cover has been rehinged with Japanese tissue. There is some wear hear and there on the covers but overall a very attractive copy. Inside the B&W engravings have a good bit of foxing but the color plates, printed on a different stock, are near pristine. Text pages, most of which feature a small, illustration have only light aging around the edges. The binding is square and secure. ; Preface by Guy De Maupassant; Color Plates, B&W Engravings and B&W Decorations; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 203 pages; This book is in French. The story of Manon Lescaut was made into a popular and tragic opera by Puccini. My French is not very good but I believe this to be a First Edition Thus.
