Hardcover. Etat : Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Research suggests this is a UK first edition hardcover of this title published by Longmans Green & Co in 1875, but rebound. The book is in Good condition overall but has the frontispiece missing and the early end papers, so the book starts with the title page. I believe there's a couple plates missing from the middle of the book too, based on notes left me by a previous collector. The book itself is tightly bound with split binding along the front panel and an inch or so missing from the spine binding (see photo). The book has 224 pages all in and the text is complete bearing in mind my comments about the two apparent missing plates. The seam is split along the inside cover but the text block is firm and not loose. The title page confirms the year of publication in 1875.
