Ex-Library copy, with expected inserts and inscriptions. Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages remain attached. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Boards have heavy shelf-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Wear marks overall.

Very good, with rubbing of the bottom edge, top edge, and front edge of the back board, wear to the head of the spine, the bookplate of the Spenser scholar Rudolf Gottfried and his wife Marion attached to the front stick down, and occasional marginalia and underlining in Gottfried s hand, usually in pencil but sometimes in pen.
