  • 6. Antwerpen, De Nederlandsche Boekhandel, printed by J.E. Buschmann, (1894), in-folio, 54 x 32 cm, title printed in black & red with coloured vignette + handcoloured woodcut frontispiece + 64 pp + 38 plates (of which 8 handcoloured woodcuts) + 15 full page engravings (one double page), with 42 handcoloured illustrations in the text. Loose as issued. Edited in installments, added are 4 chromolithograph wrappers which came with the installments. Kept in a modern red cloth box, with leather title label on front cover. Sumptous publication with some magnificent illustrations. Some page have some minor marginal soiling (dust) but the whole is in very fine condition. This publication was edited to commemorate and illustrate the mock historicised town quarter ''Oud Antwerpen'' which formed part of the Antwerp World Exhibition of 1894. These historicised town quarters (later called Ancienne Belgique - Oud België) became a recurring theme in Belgian world exhibitions.
