History of the lodge, along with history & peerage of the Fairfax family. B/w illustrations and photos. This copy SIGNED & INSCRIBED by Albert Lord Fairfax to Col. Arthur Herbert, who notably served in the Old Dominion Rifles of Viginia during the Civil War. Laid in is a newspaper clipping from 03/20/1909 telling of the loss of Lord Fairfax's historic colonial home on their 900 acre plantation, Northampton in Prince Georges County, MD. Interesting association. Good+/No Jacket. Covers have four slits for 2 silk ribbon clasps, but ribbons are gone. Otherwise nice in cream leatherette with gilt royal coat of arms.
