Etat : Good. 1945. 254 pages. Black pictorial dust jacket over beige cloth. Inscription to front endpaper. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Light tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. The unclipped dust jacket has heavy edge wear, with tears, chips and areas of loss. Light tanning to spine and edges.

hardcover. 1934 reprint. xv, 390pp, 2 plates missing, owner's signature, corner tips worn, cloth split all along rear of spine, head and tail of spine worn, reading copy in colour photocopy of original dw. The expedition was the first attempt since the 1924 expedition on which Mallory and Irvine had been killed. In 1933 three climbers, Wager, Wyn Harris and later Smythe, reached 8580 metres. On this expedition an iceaxe was found (now in the Alpine Club) which belonged to Mallory or Irvine. Glacier Books are experienced and professional booksellers.
