Some large tears to the first eight leaves. A large tear also to final leaf. Heavy wear to covers, with loss to head and tail of spine, and heavy chipping to edges. All in one piece, but decidedly delicate. Good.

Publisher's blue paper covers, titled in red and navy, and priced at 7d. Presented in a navy quarter morocco felt-lined clamshell box, with raised bands and gilt titles to spine, and blue cloth over sides. Quite heavy wear to spine of number 315, with some loss to head and tail. Otherwise, fairly light wear with the expected toning to war economy-standard paper. Rare in the original covers. Very good. This collection contains all three parts of Jepson's Detective mystery, based on a prematurely retired Anglo-Indian police officer who decides to join a private detective agency on his return to London. Also containing 'The Battle of Richebourg-Festubert' and 'The Battle of Loos' from Doyle's series 'The British Campaign in France and Flanders,' as well as the war-time adventure 'The Man-Trap' by "Sapper," and Wodehouse's 'Jeeves and the Unbidden Guest' and 'Uneasy Money' chapters XI-XXI.

Light offsetting to endpapers; text lightly browned. Spine lightly sunned. Rather worn jacket extensively repaired and restored, with tape showing to both sides, large clip to rear flap. Very good in a good wrapper. The second mystery to feature Ronald Standish.

Some light handling, creases and chips to all issues. Rare in the original paper covers, including some especially scarce issues. Very good. Containing all five parts of Doyle's 'Three of Them: Conversations with Children,' as well as two later stories 'Billy Bones' and 'The Forbidden Subject.' Also featuring three Wodehouse stories, and "Sapper's" 'The Film that was Never Shown.'.

First edition, first printing. Original blue cloth with black titles to the upper board and spine, in original dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the cloth clean and the binding square. The contents with light spotting of the text block edge and a previous owner's inscription to the front free endpaper. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked pictorial dustwrapper which has a few short closed tears and some associated creasing to the extremities. Not price-clipped (7/6net to the spine, as called for). An attractive example of this Bulldog Drummond title. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request.
