Hardcover. Etat : Poor+. 1st Edition. This is a Brown Pressed design cover Political Classic Hardback in Poor+ condition. c1848, 1st Edition. This is the Very Hard to Find 1848 edition. It has a bright cover with some wear and light stains. It is a square book. Imprint on title page "McClure's Working Men's Institute, Org. A.D. 1856 Hartford City". The spine ends and corners show wear but the edges are nice. "Henry Clay" on the spine is still bright gilt. There is a spine split right at the block but still holding in the back. The pages are still tight. This book is dedicated to Dr. William Turner of New York.The preface is dated 1848 and act of Congress is dated 1848. The bottom of title page is dated 1848.The frontispage of Clay is still bright with some light foxing.The pages have foxing but mostly on the edge. One back free page is missing half a page. Another free page has a number of notes. 120 pages + Adv pages.19870-1223.
