Pages lightly yellowed, minimal foxing on end papers and frontises and title pages, remnant of glued paper inside front covers, else pages good+.

Vol. II has a tear at side of spine and a sticker at the center of spine. In both volumes, spine is cracked and endpages are browned. Slight foxing of "Contents" pages of Vol. I. Owner's name is written on front endpage of Vol. I. "The Property of Canada Yearly Meeting of Friends" label is on front endpage of Vol. II. Several early pages of Vol. II are loose.

Corners and spine ends frayed, corners bumped, back top corner of Volume I looks chewed. Light foxing, hinges cracked, but only one signature in Volume II loose. Edited by Benjamin Seebohm (Smith I:625) Forster was a 19th century British minister who died in Tennessee. He advocated anti-slavery in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, and Spain as well as America.
