First French edition, this copy marked "Exemplaire non aestine au Commerce," (the first French edition being issued in 300 numbered copies), printed on Japanese vellum. Original gilt stamped vellum with silk ties, later slipcase.11 1/2 x 9 inches (29 x 22.5 cm); 134 pp., with 40 plates tipped to mounts under printed guards, illustrations within the text (some full page). The rear tie detached and laid-in, else a very fine copy of an elegant production.
