Horizontal crease to letter (midsection); slight rubbing and browning (chiefly to edges), else a well-preserved piece. [2] leaves (rectos only), folded to form 4 pages. Holograph letter on letterhead of The Belvedere, Baltimore, Maryland, August 13, 1936: 'Just a line to let you know I received your letter, and will send you a photographer [sic!] of both Mr Olsen and myself. We both hope you recover from your illness . Sincerely Ethel Shutta + George Olsen' (latter name in same holographic hand). With holograph addressed envelope (also with letterhead of The Belvedere), postmarked Flushing, New York, August 14, 1936. Shutta (1897-1976), American actress and singer, known primarily for her early radio appearances with Jack Benny in the early 1930's, as well as for her comeback role in the musical 'Follies' (with her show-stopping 'Broadway Baby'), 1971.Decorative Letterhead.
