Hardcover. Etat : Good. Etat de la jaquette : Good. First Edition. Good in a Good dust jacket. Black cloth boards with some faint staining and moisture spots. Previous owner bookplate on front endpage, and front pastedown bears in small letters under the jacket flap the words, "English translation, 1st". Binding is sound. There's a dime-sized stain in the margin of the first page of the Introduction, otherwise text is in very decent shape. Price-clipped dust jacket is a bit rubbed, and has chipping -- mostly as spine-ends. About a one-inch tear at the rear flap fold.

Soft cover. Etat : Very Good. 1st Edition. Original publisher's white paper wrappers with staple binding. No date, circa 1948. 6" x 9." Unpaginated, eight pages, complete. Two black-and-white illustrations (facsimile letter and portrait of the author), complete. Pages are very clean and intact. Binding is tight. A brief article about Belle Boyd (1844-1900), a Confederate spy, and the letter she had sent to Abraham Lincoln. Facsimile of her letter printed on inside of first page. In her letter to Lincoln, Boyd threatens to release her book of war-time experiences, which supposedly contains unsavory details of the federal government (Union)'s doings, if her husband, S. Sigaud discusses the contents of her letter and what, if any, actions were taken by government officials as a result of her letter. Brief biography of Sigaud and an advertisement for Sigaud's book, Belle Boyd, Confederate Spy, printed on back. This article was first published in the February 1948 issue of the Lincoln Herald of Lincoln Memorial University.
