Etat : Very Good. 256 p., clean and completely unmarked, strong paper only slightly age-toned; many interesting maps; binding firm; dark red boards with gilt lettering on front and on spine--on spine lettering is tarnished; little shelf wear considering absence of d.j., but there is a faded spot on back board and very slight rubbing at crown and foot of spine; this is an adaptation of a collection of editorial articles for the New York Sun this distinguished journalist and historian wrote at the beginning of WWI: "The First Phase (From the Assassination of the Archduke to the Fall of Antwerp) and as such provides insight into the perceptions of the time--wonderful source for the historian and of interest to anyone who wishes to understand that cataclysmic era.
