Hardcover. Etat : Near fine. Etat de la jaquette : near fine. First Edition. Octavo, 350pp. A crisp, clean copy, near fine, with some dust-soiling and very gentle foxing to the edges. In a near fine dust jacket, with a small area of tape ghost, and very mild creasing. A delightful copy, SIGNED by Hall of Fame shortstop Ozzie Smith on the front free endpaper. Almost certainly unique thus! Note that the book is not signed by Harris. "The Southpaw" is the first of four baseball novels by Harris which center around the character of Henry "Author" Wiggen, the most enduring of which is "Bang the Drum Slowly." "The Southpaw" is scarce in an attractive dust jacket, and we've never seen one signed by a Major League Baseball player, much less a hall-of-famer.
