Edition originale
Hardcover. Knowlton, Peter (Photographer) (illustrateur). Presumed first edition/first printing. xiv, 162 p. Includes: illustrations, maps. Includes 127 listed illustrations. Editor's Notes. Color illustration on front cover. The editor compled the work of Ms. Somers, a founder of the Sippican Historical Society, after her death, using her copious notes on the old houses in Marion, Massachusetts. The editor was able to add a few more of the older houses to the compilation that Ms. Somers had been working from. Ms. Somers notes were informed by oral accounts from long-time residents and descendents of families of long-standing in the community. Sippican was incorporated as Rochester Town in 1686. It's name was later changed from Sippican to Marion, in honor of the famed Swamp Fox. Good. No dust jacket. Cover has some wear and soiling. Some discoloration inside boards (trace of former DJ presence)?.
