Previous owner's signature in pencil to first free endpaper. Soundly bound. Text is nice and clean throughout. Some minor foxing to endpapers. In the book prelims there is a memoriam page from the author to his son who died in the Great War - the lower half of this page is split from the hinge, but is still bound in the upper half. An attractive, well illustrated volume. xxviii + 440pp + Plates. Weighs over 1.5kg unpacked. Dimensions approximately 260mm high x 205mm wide x 37mm deep. Extra postage may be payable. Written by Tom Speedy, the author of 'Sport in the Highlands and Lowlands of Scotland'. With a frontispiece, twenty-eight plates, and in-text illustrations. Illustrated by John Guille Millais. Millais was an artist, traveler, and naturalist, who is known for his art specialising in wildlife and flowers. Millais was the son of the Pre-Raphaelite artist John Everett Millais and his wife Effie Gray. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. A little marking to the boards. Some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, 'G. G. J.
