Etat : Collectible. FIRST. nFINE. Small pocket book hardcover, tan with brown titling and illustration. Stamphkraft did an extensive series of small children's books - blending the hobby of art stamps with reading. Published between 1915 and 1919, there were about a dozen or more titles, including: "Three Bears", "The Bible", "Joseph and his Brethren", " Farmyard Friends", " Andersen's Fairy Tales", ' Kiddie Kapers", " Rip Van Winkle", Mother Goose Rhymes", "Something-ToDo", "Fairy Tales", "6 Favorite Stories- Peter Rabbit, Three Bears, Cinderella, Puss in Boots, Ribinson Crusoe.", "Alice in Wonderland". THIS IS THE ONLY LISTED FOR SALE COPY OF "Travel Stories - United States ; United States Done in Poster Stamps". (!) The book has no internal writing or notes. The stamps were taken from the frontis envelop and placed on each page, as meant for the child's participation. Topics include: travel 'On the Steamer', 'Pickaninnies Diving for Money' (Florida), 'Alligators', 'The Mardi Gras', 'Mexicans on the Texas Border', 'Indian Women Selling Pottery', 'California Trees' (Giant Redwoods), 'Geysers in Yelowstone Park', 'Cow-Boys' (Wyoming), 'Balancing Rock (Colorado), 'Niagara Falls', 'New York Skyline'. The last page references 5 additional Stampkraft books about foreign nations. All things considered, for the Children's Literature collector, this title is one of the scarcest in the series. In very high grade condiiton, well preserved. [B013].
